  5. Wilderness Hide 'n Seek (30/09/2017)

Wilderness Hide 'n Seek Hello, Tonight we will be hosting a wilderness hide 'n seek. As the name suggests, one of us will be hiding somewhere in the wilderness. Find - and kill them. Your target will be carrying a donation scroll and no food. The bounty can be hiding ANYWHERE in the wilderness, both up- and downstairs so search thorough! Probably needless to say - but if you die in the wilderness, your items will be lost. Remember that you need to wear at least 4 items in the wilderness to be able to attack somebody. Make sure to also check tomorrow's events for the Weekend of Events Weekend of Events Make sure to also check out tomorrow's Monster Bash Event! Monster Bash Event Best of luck, The Events Team
  6. Monster Bash Event (Sunday, 01/10/2017)

Monster Bash Event Hello, With the introduction of our new PVM Arena we've decided to add an extra event to this weekend's line-up! Love PVM, or its loots? Would you like a shot at winning scrolls? - Then gather around your friends and take on the Monster Bash Event! The event will take place Tonight(Sunday). Right after the Dangerous Duo's event. Check out this weekend's line-up! The event The arena will be opened up by one of our Administrators and you will be able to enter the arena with the ::event command. You will have a boss kill counter displayed on your screen and the player with the most kills will get a global yell message as well a reward. Once you've teleported to the arena and the event has commenced, you will not be able to teleport back in should you leave or die (this is a safe zone). We also let the bosses keep their drop table in the arena so if you happen not to win the overall event, you still have a good chance at getting something from the actual bosses. You do not need to sign up for this event. It will be announced on yell when the arena is opened up. So how does it work? Once everybody is in and the event arena is closed, random bosses will be spawned. These will do their utmost to take down every single player in the arena - so don't forget to gear up and bring food! Every boss works the way you're used to - Ice Demon will throw his lethal icicles at you whilst Dagganoth Rex refuses to take damage from Ranged and Melee. Prepare yourself accordingly. After a while, the event will be paused and the one with the most kills, thus the winner, will be globally announced and be rewarded. Prizes: We will be hosting multiple rounds of this event. The winners will be awarded a $50 Scroll. Any questions? Pm Mamba or Thewhitehaze in-game. See you there, The Events Team

  12. Cerberus Guide

Hello and welcome to this Cerberus guide. As there, surprisingly enough, has not been made one yet, I've decided to submit the one created by me and @X Dark Z. This guide was already featured in the 3th edition of The Elkoy Chronicles but since people would rather search the Guides section over the Newspaper section for their PVM Guides, I've decided to submit it in here too. Should you have any other questions or tips - then feel free to leave these in the comments down below. General Information/Getting there: Before you even consider taking up this boss, make sure you have at least 91 slayer, or you won’t be able to fight it. Before you fight Cerberus, make sure to obtain the “Key Master’s key” or a "Key Master's Teleport" from the slayer shop. All of the slayer masters should have these in store, albeit that the wilderness slayer master charges wilderness slayer points for these items respectively. Therefore it does not matter to which one you go to. The key costs 200 slayer points. It’s definitely worth saving up for, as it grants permanent access into Cerberus’ lair. The teleport has only one charge and is consumed upon entry. The teleport costs 15 slayer points. You can get to Cerberus’ gatekeeper by simply using your spellbook. Under boss teleports. Once you get there you’ll be in a room with the Key Master. Make sure to pot up now and activate your prayers. Double check your inventory and equipment to make sure you haven’t forgotten anything. After you’ve done your preparation, simply use the key or the teleport on the Key Master and you’re in. Gear and inventory setup A good setup on how to take on Cerberus is shown here: Helm: Slayer Helm (on task) > Bandos Helm > Serpentine Helm > Torva helm > Statius' Helm Cape: Compltionist cape > TokHaar Kal > Max cape Amulet: Amulet of Torture > Saradomin's Whisper > Amulet of Fury Weapon: Drygore Rapier > Chaotic Rapier/Chaotic Longsword Body: Torva Platebody > Vesta's Platebody > Statius' Platebody Legs: Torva Platelegs > Vesta's Chainskirt > Statius' Platelegs Shield: Divine Spirit Shield* > Spectral Spirit Shield > Bandos Warshield > Dragon Defender Gloves: Barrows Gloves Boots: Primordial Boots > Torva boots > Steadfast Boots > Dragon Boots Ring: Eye of the Warrior > Berserker Ring (I) > Berserker Ring * A Divine Spirit Shield is essential when using Soul Split, as it blocks a lot of incoming damage. Should you wish to downgrade the tier of your armour from the abovementioned example, then it may be a better idea to stick to only one Overload and one Prayer Renewal. Try and see what works for you. If you do not bring a Divine then bringing more than one of each is a waste of inventory space. Although a Unicorn is not required, it will end up saving a lot of food. Note that combat familiars as Steel Titans do not work at Cerberus, you may choose to switch the Unicorn for a Yak however. You can also bring the Unicorn pouch with you to summon after the Yak has ran out of supplies to further prolong your trip efficiency. The Fight The battle versus the three-headed hound is pretty straight forward. Upon entering the arena, make your way as soon as possible to it if you are using Soul Split to recover your health. Its normal attacks - which may dish out decent damage, should not be considered a kill threat and when using Soul Split and a Unicorn, can easily be out-healed. Cerberus' special attacks may pose more of a problem however. Cerberus has two special attacks. You can tell when its using one of the attacks when text appears above its head. The first and easy to manage special attack is the following: “Grrrrrrr” When Cerberus' uses this growl attack, it will mark three tiles on the battlefield with lava, one of this will always be the one where you're standing when Cerberus unleashes the attack. Simply moving away from the marked area will keep you safe from this attack and from there on you can continue the fight as you were. “Aaarroooo” Cerberus' next special attack is a bit more tricky to deal with. After howling as seen above, three souls will summon on the North side of the room. Each of these three souls attack with a different attack style, corresponding to their colour; Red uses melee, Green uses ranged and Blue uses magic. The order in which the souls spawn is always random, but their attacks will always be from the most western towards the east. Therefore you can time your protection prayers to neglect a large quantity of damage. Note that the souls strike directly after each other and that it is sometimes difficult to get your protection prayers up in time, therefore you should always make sure to keep high health when Cerberus uses this attack. Furthermore, the souls' attacks smite your prayer, this is why besides a Prayer Renewal, Super Restores are absolutely essential in order to be able to efficiently do multiple kills per trip at Cerberus. Once you know how these attacks work and how to survive them, you should have little to no problem taking down Cerberus. Note however, that it may sometimes randomly use 2 to 3 abilities in a row, which - if not prepared for, can easily catch you off-guard and send you back to dungeoneering for a new rapier - or worse, saving for a new drygore weapon. Notable Drops Eternal Crystal Pegasian Crystal Primordial Crystal Smouldering Stone Hellpuppy Happy hunting!
  13. Abyssal Sire Guide

Hello and welcome to this Abyssal Sire guide. As the boss has recently received a bit of a rework, we felt it was only appropriate to show the new way to do it. Props to @X Dark Z with helping me out here and there. This guide was already featured in the 4th edition of The Elkoy Chronicles but since people would rather search the Guides section over the Newspaper section for their PVM Guides, I've decided to submit it in here too. Should you have any other questions or tips - then feel free to leave these in the comments down below. General information Abyssal Sire requires 85 slayer. So make sure you fill in that requirement before even considering fighting the boss. There are two ways to be able to get two Abyssal Sire. The first way is through being on an elite task, in which you can simply teleport to the lair by using Boss Teleports. The second way is using an Overseers Book, which costs 15 slayer points. This will allow you to get into the lair without being on task, but you must also pay 5m. Gear and inventory setup Range is your best bet when it comes to Abyssal Sire. Your setup should look a little something like this. Helm: Slayer Helm (on task) > Pernix Hood > Void Ranger Helm > Morrigan’s Coif Body: Pernix Body > Void Body > Morrigan’s Body Legs: Pernix Chaps > Void Robe Legs > Morrigan’s Chaps Boots: Pegasian Boots > Pernix Boots > Glaiven Boots > Ranger Boots Gloves: Mercenary Gloves > Barrow Gloves Ring: Eye of the Ranger > Archer’s Ring (I) > Archer’s Ring | (You may also want to bring multiple Rings of Wealth(5), or a Ring of Wealth (I)) Ammo: Dragon Bolts (e) Cape: Completionist Cape > Max Cape > Ava’s Accumilator Bow: Armadyl Crossbow > Chaotic Crossbow > Rune Crossbow Shield: Divine Spirit Shield > Armadyl Buckler* > Eagle-eye Kiteshield* *Note that these other shield will improve your damage output, but will also make you take a lot more damage. Titan, as always, will do a very large chunk of damage for you, therefore making it essential. Make sure you have runes to cast shadow barrage, as that will disorient the sire. This will be explained in the fight section, note that you do not need any magic bonuses to disorient the Sire. The more profound at the boss you become, the less food you will need. You could then substitute food for more Steel Titan Pouches, Prayer Renewals and Extreme Ranging Potions. The fight Upon teleporting to the Abyssal Sire, the fight will inmediately commence. Make sure you eat up to over full health with the help of a brew or a rocktail, because if it is your first time entering it may take a bit for the map to load and its tentacles will be on you, dealing rapid damage. Move up to the sire as soon as you can to avoid the tentacles from hitting you like so: Standing inside the red square will keep you safe from any incoming damage, except the poison attacks from the Sire. These can easily be evaded by moving one square away. Now that you're safe, you must now disorient the Abyssal Sire. You can do so by casting Shadow Barrage on it. It will take a couple of hits for it to be disoriented. Do not worry about not hitting, you do not need any magic+ bonus to disorient the boss and after a while you will see a message in the chatbox that it is disoriented. This message is easily overlooked, especially when using divine. So you can also use a visual queue; when the Abyssal Sire is disoriented its tentacles will face down like so. Note that you can move around freely without being hit as long as the Abyssal Sire is disoriented. Whilst the Sire is disoriented, you must take out the four respiratory systems. It is best to start off with the ones the furthest away from the boss, as you may not be able to take them down before the Abyssal Sire is no longer disoriented, causing the tentacles to inflict damage on you again. The respiratory systems each have 50 health points (500 on x10) and must all be taken out to be able to advance to the next phase in the battle. It is advised to use your Steel Titan's special ability to take them out faster. If you do not manage to take the systems out whilst the boss is disoriented, simply use shadow barrage again and repeat. Once you've taken the respiratory systems down, move back to the safe spot and the sire will start its next and final phase. It will move away from its throne and make it's way to the middle of the fighting stage. The sire will spawn a lot more minions but these do not damage you. You can actually choose to use them to heal on with blood barrage or soulsplit. From the safespot, simply range the sire from a distance until it goes down. Once again, use your Steel Titan's special ability to take it out faster. Just as in the first phase, it is only able to hit you with its poison attacks, simply move away one square and you will be able to easily take it down. Unsired Abyssal Sire will sometimes drop an "Unsired" (1/100), which are untradeable. When you get one, you must take it to the Font of Consumption in order to trade it in to get a rare drop. Upon obtaining one you should follow the path outside of the tentacle’s range and main part of the lair. Simply use your unsired on the Font, and you’ll receive whatever drop you get. Notable Drops: All of these drops can be obtained when using the Unsired on the Font of Consumption. Abyssal Dagger Bludgeon Axon, Spine, & Claw (To make the Absysal Bludgeon) Abyssal Head (Used for Red Slayer Helmet) Abyssal Orphan (Pet) Jar of Miasma (Rare, though worthless at this moment) Happy hunting!
